Published Online: 6/1/2020
Abstract
A new portable device has been developed for electrocution of species of crayfish whose live transport is not pennitted in France. An electric discharge of 2 milliseconds with 5000 volts and 30 amperes is obtained from a battery of 12 volts using a portable device. When a crayfish is put in close contact with the two electrodes in tap water, it is killed with one discharge.
