Abstract

A population of the crayfish, Pacifastacus leniusculus, was sampled for a two year period from a defined section of the Sacramento River. Estimates of production were calculated using the Allen and remova1-summation methods from data co1lected on growth, reproduction, density and mortality. A comparison of Pacifastacus leniusculus production between the Sacramento River and Lake Tahoe populat1ons showed production in the Sacramento River to be substantially higher and probably related to environmental differences.
