On the systematics of palaearctic crayfishes (Crustacea, Astacidae)
Published Online:
Abstract
The classification of Palaearctic crayfishes of the family Astacidae is still imperfect. First of all it concerns the pontic crayfishes (Pontastacus), which among the Palaearctic Astacidae are the more widely and variedly represented. R. Bott ( 1950) considers the pontic crayfishes as a subgenus Pontastacus, while Mordukhay-Boltovskoy and Starobogatov (1977) considers them as an independent genus.
