Ethogenesis of crayfish

Fluvial crayfish (Astacidae), including Astacus astacus L., are aquatic invertebrates, possessing rather perfect and specialized external organs of motion. Ten pairs of walking legs and pleopods ensure comparatively rapid moving on the bottom and swimming in all directions, while the tail fan is used when throwing the body back and escaping from danger or an obstacle.
