The crayfish plague fungus Aphanomyces astaci - Diagnosis, isolation and pathology

Abstract
The fungal pathogen Aphanomyces astaci causing crayfish plague is described with special reference to its diagnosis in diseased crayfish, its isolation and the in vitro production of zoospores. The present spread of the disease by the introduction of North American crayfish into new areas is also discussed.
