A population study of the British freshwater crayfish Austropotamobius pallipes (Lereboullet)

Abstract
The study area is an aqueduct 800 m long. The crayfish population is reproductively isolated and available to hand and trap sampling. Aspects of the life history, reproductive biology is reported and estimates of population size, structure and overwinter mortality are discussed. Seasonal differences in trap behavior between sexes is also included.
